My name is Alexander Lawrence, and the idea for SafeKeep took shape while I was working as a report and integrity compliance specialist within the Calgary Police Service. In that role, I encountered hundreds of fraud reports affecting residents across Calgary. What struck me most was the number of cases involving seniors, trusting, kind individuals who were unaware of the increasingly sophisticated tactics used by cybercriminals.
Repeatedly, I observed a discouraging pattern. Bank representatives could only assist after the money had already disappeared. Family and friends were often involved too late to prevent the damage. Even when police intervention occurred, recovering stolen funds or personal information was rarely possible. Once the harm took place, the impact could not be reversed, leaving many seniorst with lasting emotional and financial consequences.
These experiences highlighted a serious gap in our community. As cyber threats grew rapidly, the education, support, and protection available to Calgary’s seniors were not keeping pace. I recognized that something meaningful needed to be done.
With a formal education in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance, multiple industry certifications, and experience selling identity-theft protection, I knew I had the knowledge to help. My time within law enforcement also provided a detailed understanding of how cybercriminals operate, information that seniors rarely have access to.
SafeKeep was created to close this gap.
Our mission is simple but essential: to empower older adults with clear, practical guidance to help them stay safe in the digital world. Through education, personalized support, and a calm, trustworthy approach, SafeKeep helps seniors navigate technology with confidence and peace of mind.
For me, this work is about more than cybersecurity. It is about protecting independence, restoring confidence, and ensuring that the people who built our communities are not left vulnerable in today’s digital era.
SafeKeep exists because no one should face cyber threats alone, especially our seniors.

At SafeKeep, we hold ourselves to a higher standard. We believe that the quality of our team directly shapes the quality of protection, confidence, and peace of mind we deliver to seniors. Our values are rooted in professionalism, compassion, resilience, and a solutions-driven mindset. These are the traits we expect both now and as SafeKeep continues to grow.
We serve a vulnerable population, and that responsibility demands unwavering honesty, transparency, confidentiality, and ethical conduct. Integrity guides every decision we make and every interaction we have.
Cyber threats evolve. So do we. We embrace learning, refinement, and growth to stay ahead of new risks and continue delivering excellence.
We serve families, retirement homes, and the broader Calgary community. Every decision reflects our commitment to protecting those who need it most.
Every program, workshop, and interaction is built with clarity and intention. We remember that our ultimate aim is to help seniors feel safe, confident, and digitally empowered.
Seniors often bring concerns or fears about technology. We respond with patience, clarity, and steady leadership, even in high-stress moments.
We believe the best results come from teamwork. We support one another, share knowledge freely, and work together to lift the mission.
